Canada Diamond Mines: Ekati Diamond Mine
Canada's Ekati Diamond Mine is located 300 kilometers northeast of the Canadian North West Territories capital of Yellowknife. The Ekati mine is built over several 45 to 62 million year-old kimberlite pipes that lie beneath shallow lake-beds on Lac de Gras.
