Myanmar Burma | Mogok

At an elevation of 4000 feet, the Mogok valley in the Mandalay Division/Shan State, north-east of Mandalay, in northern Burma (Myanmar) has produced some of the finest rubies and sapphires the world has ever seen. The Mogok Stone Tract stretches through the valley from Kyaukpyattha village in the west, to Mogok in the east.

Within the Mogok valley, such famous mines include the Ho Mine, Shwe Pyi Aye Mine, Linyaung Chi Mine, Yadanar Kadei Kadar Mine, and Bawpadan.
