Sulawesi, Indonesia | Togian Island

Indonesia's Sulawesi island (aka Celebes) is the world's eleventh-largest island, situated to the east of Borneo. The Togian Islands are the center of north-eastern Sulawesi's Tomini Bay, an inlet to the Molucca Sea. There are 56 islands in the Togian archipelago cluster, Palu in Central Sulawesi.

Tomini Bay is the home to the indigenous nomadic Bajau Sea Gypsies. The satellite image below is of Batudaka island, with the Chinese Indonesian in the village of Wakai in the upper right corner, and Bomba in the lower left. The island of Batudaka is one of the main Islands of the Togian cluster, and home to the region's pearl farms.
