Philippines | Samal Island Pearl Farm

Off the coast of the Philippines' south-eastern most island, and Davao City (Davao del Norte), in the district of Southern Mindanao is the Samal Island archipelago. The Samal archipelago consists of nine separate islands, with the largest being Samal Island, and Talikud Island to the west.

On Samal Island, the saltwater south-sea pearl farms were located on the sheltered western side of the island, in the center of the Kaputian District. This area no longer has an active pearl farming industry.
