Freshwater Pearl Farms | Zhuji City, Zhejiang, China
The Chinese (Zhejiang region) on the Changjiang delta in the South of China, is known for its freshwater pearl farm industry ('Biwa Pearls'). In the Zhejiang coastal province ("the hometown of pearl"), pearls are grown in Freshwater pearl parks, on hundreds of rivers, lakes and ponds that are protected from the surrounding area's industrial and agricultural pollution.
Zhejiang/Zhuji pearl farming is located along the Changjiang River (Changjiang/Pearl River Watershed), at Anhui, Hubei, Hunan, Jiangsu, Jiangxi, and Zhejiang. The Changjiang River is part of the Yangtze Delta.
The pearl trading center in Zhejiang province in Zhuji City, 250 kilometers South of Shanghai. The Zhuji Pearl Markets are located in Shanxiahu Village. One of the largest freshwater pearl producers in the Zhejiang region is Grace Pearl in Zhuji City.
