Vintage 1914 Dayton Motorcycle


The Davis Sewing Machine Company manufactured shaft drive bicycles in the 1890s, and the was known for their 'Dayton Special' racing bikes and Dixie Flyer, Daytonia, National, Ohio, and Western Flyer bikes. In 1916 Davis patented a bicycle motor called the 'Gorman Motor Wheel.' The Davis Sewing Machine Company also manufactured several bicycle models for Harley Davidson from 1917 to 1922 when the company ceased operations.
