The Henderson Motorcycle Company

The "American Henderson Motorcycle Company" was started in 1911, by Tom W. and William G. Henderson in Detroit, Michigan. Henderson produced its first motorcycle in 1911, with its 934 cc in-line (IOE), or "inlet over exhaust" four cylinder motor.

A signature styling cue of the Henderson was its long wheelbase and correspondingly long gastank. In 1911 the first "Prototype" models were produced with a belt drive.
