Motobi Motorcycle History
The MotoBi motorcycle company of Pesaro (Pesaro e Urbino), Marche, Italy was founded in 1949 by Giuseppe Benelli, one of the six Benelli brothers who founded Benelli Motorcycles in 1919.
A distinctive feature of the MotoBi was its egg-shaped horizontal four-stroke engine, which may have been styled after the German Riedel R100 Imme two-stroke scooter, built by Riedel Motoren A.G. from 1948 to 1956.
