RV-360 Siphon Fume Extractor for RV Holding-Tanks
RV Plumbing Product Overview
From the makers of one of the most unique and successful RV accessories on the market today, the original RV-360 Rotating Vent, comes a new and even more innovative product: The 360 Siphon Fume Extractor for RV holding tanks. This simple but cleaver device replaces the OEM roof vents on any RV and is an engineered aerodynamic vent cap that draws out tank fumes in all wind conditions, contains no moving parts and functions flawlessly while driving or stationary.
The 360 Siphon is very low profile, standing only 2-1/2 inches high makes it much less vulnerable to low or overhanging branches. Additionally the Siphon 360 is designed to operate with air movement as low as 3 mph and it eliminates the possibility of stack down drafts.
The Problem
Many RVs have odor problems, however it's not the lack of chemicals, tank cleanliness or poor seals. Tank fumes are forced out through dried traps and the toilets overflow tube. If higher air pressure exists in the tank, it will seep towards a low pressure area, your living space. That is the only reason you ever smell foul tank contents in the living space of your RV.
The Solution
The solution to the above problem is to insure that the holding tanks never contain more air pressure than the RV. This is accomplished by insuring that the tank venting system utilizes the outside air movement (which causes the problem in the first place). If every breath of wind sucked out fumes and placed a low pressure in the tank, the problem would be solved. The modern RV roof top is busy with solar panels, A/C units, vents, railings, sky lights, satellite dishes, etc. these are all obstacles for the moving air causing turbulence and down drafts, which usually shoot right down the vent stack into the tank below. This is what pushes the fumes into your RV.
The 360 Siphon is designed very much the opposite of the conventional vent cap. It invites the wind from all directions and angles channeling as much air as possible to its center. Any wind will create a low pressure pulling out fumes. The design of the unit makes it physically impossible for high pressure or wind to enter the stack. Even when an RV is stationary, a slight wind will enable the 360 Siphon to pull fumes from any holding tank.
Installation and Operation
The 369 Siphon installs on the RV roof tip the same as all of the conventional vents. It comes with a water sealant collar to insure no water travels between the stack and roof. Additionally the 360 Siphon lid can be used as a universal replacement lid that converts the conventional cap base into a proper vent that draws fumes and inhibits down drafts. Is your existing vent base is in good condition and is sealed properly into the roof membrane, the lid of the 360 Siphon can be installed on to most bases.

The operation of the 360 Siphon will create the following benefits:
- 1. No odors in the RV from the gray or black tanks due to increased ventilation and the restriction of down drafts.
- 2. The elimination of debris and insects entering the system via the stack because of an integrated built-in bug screen.
- 3. Lower profile and extremely rugged UV resistant poly-carbonate plastic insuring a long life span.
- 4. A tank's capacity can be maximized without inhaling foul smelling air.
- 5. Continual draw of fumes pulls fresh air into the tank, resulting in an increase in aerobic action, significantly increasing the breakdown of solid waste.
NOTE: The RV-360 Siphon is brand new on the market and will soon be marketed online from several online RV parts suppliers. Check back for a list of suppliers.
