Coil 'n Wrap - Cable Managment & Coiling Systems

Product Overview

Again, it's the little things that really can make your life easier, and these systems really "fit the bill". This simple innovation creates a quick and easy way to store your extension cords and cables that eliminates kinking and twisting of the cords and also provides for an easy way to coil and uncoil them before use or when storing them away.

The Problem

The problem is that anyone who has ever used an extension cord knows that a mess will most certainly occur when coiling and uncoiling them unless extreme care is taken before and after each use, however even the best cords will kink and twist over time from the constant use of coiling and uncoiling them and attempting to prevent eventual kinking by twisting to keep the coil even and laying flat. Usually the real problem occurs when uncoiling as a twist will happen when the hose is pulled from the coil. If this happens over and over in the same place on the hose, eventually it will cause a weak spot on the hose cord will kink at every use.

Another problem is that as the size of the wire in the extension cord is increased to handle larger electrical loads, such as 30 amps, the weight of the cord becomes much heavier and the cord becomes more difficult to handle, use and store. This is also evident as well as when the cords are smaller and longer as twists and kinks often occur regularly when coiling and uncoiling, creating a twisted mess that is both frustrating and potentially dangerous especially if weak spots are created by kinks occurring in the same place when the cord is used over and over and the twist happens in the same place.

The Solution

The solution to all of the above issues is this unique Coil n' Wrap coiling system for cables and extension cords. This simple system fits several different sizes of extension cords and cables and is composed of only two parts: a two holed rubber device called a "Coil-It" used to coil the cords and a "Velcro One-Wrap" strap used to secure the cords when coiled. Upon completion of the coiling and securing the cords with the attached velcro strap, the cords/cables can then be conveniently stored for future use and simply uncoiled, by reversing the process. By use of this system, kinks and twists will be eliminated thus the lifetime of the extension cords and cables will be extended greatly.

Installation and Operation

No special tools are required. The process of installation consists of installing the velcro strap permanently at or near the female end of the cable/cord. The Coil-It rubber device is also permanently attached and installed over the male end of the cord/cable and is slid about 2 to 3 feet down the cord. The cord is then held in one hand and one coil is made then the male end is fit into the other hole of the Coil-It device. The cord is then rolled with a hand under motion creating smooth coils.

When the end of the cord is reached by the female end, the velcro strap is then wrapped around the cord securing it together. The male and female ends can be joined together at this point and the cord/cable is ready for neat and convenient storage. To use the cord/cable, the process is simply reversed and the Coil-It parts remain in place for future easy coiling.
