For over a quarter of century Davis Cabinets in Junction City, Oregon have been producing and supplying quality cabinets for the motorhome industry. Junction City, located about 20 miles north of Eugene on Highway 99, is just a few miles from RV industry leading motorhome manufacturers Monaco, Country Coach, Safari, and Beaver, and one of the nation's largest RV dealerships, Guaranty RV.

Davis Cabinets was founded by owner, Rick Davis in 1973 and is now under the direction of his son, 31 year old Shaun Davis. Over the years they have, at various times, been the sole cabinet supplier for both Safari and Monaco MotorCoach companies. However, now their business is primarily designing and building after-market custom motorhome cabinets for all brands of motorhomes.

The Problem

Most of today's motorhomes are built to a formula that will appeal to the largest number of potential customers. As nice as they are, they usually do not have that personal touch or quite that functional use that many motorhome owners want, in order to personalize their home on wheels specific to each individual motorhome owner. Whether it be accessory cabinets and drawers, pantry / kitchen or bedroom cabinets, TV / entertainment centers, small / large or angled desks, linen or clothes closets; many coach owners need to remodel the motorhome's interiors to fit their specific needs. Quality construction and perfect matchability to the original cabinetry is of prime consideration when considering a motorhome's remodel. Places that can accomplish this highly desired, very unique and custom work efficiently and cost effectively are few and far between.

The Solution

Davis Cabinets is one of only a handful of custom coach cabinet shops in the United States that can handle a large volume of customers. During three daily shifts working 5 days a week, they employ over 25 of the finest local craftsmen and office staff with many years of experience in this speciality field to run the various phases of their extensive operation. Under the direction of Shaun Davis, a very fine hands-on craftsman in his own right, the company has flourished into one of the top custom motorcoach cabinet designers and builders in the country with a large and growing following.

Their parking lot located in the back of their 20,000+ square foot facility is nearly always full of luxury coaches either in for measurement or cabinet installation. At any one time you will see Monacos, Prevosts, Country Coaches and American Coaches among others awaiting their turn for beautiful new cabinetry installation at Davis Cabinets.

Installation and Operation

Getting an appointment is the first step. We were told about Davis Cabinets long before we actually met them in March at the 2006 FMCA International Convention in Pomona, CA (obviously, word-of-mouth is spreading). Upon meeting Shaun and his wife at their booth, we scheduled an appointment at their Junction City, OR location for measurement in early June 2006 with installation one week later. We needed a complete new dining room table unit built to include a multi-tiered computer center and new storage cabinets, new cabinet dividers and shelves throughout the coach for more efficient storage, two new bathroom cabinets designed and built, and a redesign of the complete bedroom cabinetry to accommodate a new side-by-side Splendide Ariston RV Stack Washer & Dryer as well as new hanging closets and drawers and upper cabinets with slide-out shelves.

Upon our arrival at Davis Cabinets Junction City location at 9:00 am on June 13th, Shaun measured and took copious notes on the entire project. We were done with that phase and back on the road by 11:00 am. We returned on the evening of June 20th and overnighted in their parking lot in preparation for our June 21st install appointment. Additionally, there were 5 other coaches having work done at the same time. At 7:30 am the following morning and for the next three days skilled craftsmen installed all of the cabinets and even did a few extra things that were not on the original list. At the end of the work day on June 23rd the work was completed. It turned out absolutely beautiful and matched the existing cabinetry perfectly. Our coach now has much more storage space and is organized much more efficiently. Davis Cabinets are very professional and are highly recommended for any custom cabinet work.
