Product Overview

The Problem

Did you know RV roof seams require yearly maintenance? This is especially true of slide-out roofs, because of the fact that they are always being opened and closed and the seams are constantly rubbing against the rubber seals surrounding the slide-outs. This constant rubbing eventually causes the sealants to work loose and thus allow water to enter the RV through the roof seams.

The Solution

EternaBond is one product that really works to form a permanent watertight bond on roof seams. It is perfect for all RV roof repairs and maintenance. Both the tape and patches can be applied to any roof surface (except silicone) and create a watertight, leak proof roof. It is used over factory roof seams one time and you never have to do roof seam maintenance again. EternaBond is permanent and will never shrink, crack, peel, or lose its grip. It also can be used for tank and awning repairs.

Installation and Operation

If you know exactly where a hole or leak is on the roof, the roof patch is easy to apply and stick on. However, if you intend to seal the entire perimeter of your slide-out roof(s), it is advisable to have it professionally done. It can however be applied by the do-it-yourselfer, but extreme caution should be observed as this product heats up and becomes very aggressive by sticking permanently, very quickly to any surface to which it is applied.

For an entire perimeter application, it is a two-person job. It must be cut exactly and while peeling away the backing paper it must be placed in its exact and final location on the first try because once applied it forms a permanent bond and is extremely difficult to remove. The directions are quite straightforward and should be followed exactly.

Note of Caution: I was informed by professional RV service technicians who have used this product extensively, that it is advisable to put each roll of EternaBond OneStep RV Roof Tape into the freezer for about half an hour prior to use, so that you will have sufficient time to work with it before its bonding becomes permanent and extremely difficult to remove.
