Lane Seeker | Lane Positioning Device

Lane Seeker - MotorHome Lane Positioning

Product Overview

For the Class A motorhome or Big Rig operator the Lane Seeker is one of the best inventions since sliced bread. It is a must for all motorhome operators regardless of their experience behind the wheel. For under $20, this unique innovation will increase driver confidence dramatically.

The vehicle operator uses the Lane Seeker as a quick reference point indicator to accurately determine the exact position of the motorhome in the lane in which it is travelling without taking your eyes off the road to confirm your position in your side mirrors or rear camera.

The Problem

The problem is that due to the height of the motorhome or big rig driver's position in relation to the ground, both the vehicle and the lane lines are not visible in the same field of view, therefore one must either rely on guesswork to position the vehicle centered in the lane or turn your head to confirm your position in the side mirrors or rear camera. This causes the driver to unintentionally steer the vehicle in the direction that one's head is turned. This phenomenon is called target fixation.

It becomes even more imperative to know one's position in the lane while driving in dense freeway traffic, driving next to a median strip or barrier, or driving on a narrow bridge or overpass.

The Solution

The solution to this problem is an innovative product called the Lane Seeker. The Lane Seeker is a unique battery operated device that features a movable diode that slides horizontally along a numbered 1/2" x 6" bar that easily attaches to the front windshield of the motorhome by two suction cups. It requries no addtional tools for installation. The unit is powered by 2 AA batteries that operate a red light inside the diode for use in dark conditions or at night.

The Lane Seeker is positioned in the lower left portion of the front windshield below and out of the driver's field of view of the road. The device is positioned and is adjustable such that the red diode lines up with the center or lane line as viewed by each individual vehicle operator regardless of height or position behind the wheel.
