Museum Putty & Quake Hold Putty | Secure Your Breakables
Product Overview
We like to display various homey items in our motorhome that must be securely attached so as not to move around and possibly break while we are traveling down the road. We have found that Museum Putty is the best way to secure your valuable artifacts to whatever surface they are on so that they will not fall off when the motorhome or RV is moving down the road.
The Problem
Breakable items will break if they fall on the floor when your RV is moving down the road. We enjoy displaying such items as small vases and collectables in our motorhome, but at the same time are wary that they might fall off and break or that we will attach them with glues that might adversely affect the surfaces that they are attached to.
The Solution
damaging the surface. It is good to use on both vertical surfaces to hold pictures in place as well as on horizontal surfaces such as shelves or countertops to hold valuable and breakable ceramic pots, vases and such securely so that they will not move during travel. The advantage to using Museum Putty over glues is that it can be easily removed without damage to the surface and with no residue left behind once it is removed. It is also reusable.
Installation and Operation
Museum Putty comes in a package of usually half a dozen strips about 1/4" thick by 4" wide. The strips are individual pieces of putty that are rolled into a ball then placed beneath an item to be held securely in place. The Museum Putty is then flattened down so as not to be noticeable on the surface that the item is adhered to. It works perfectly when placed on the bottom corners of pictures that are hung on the walls of the RV so that they will not rock back and forth and possibly fall off when the RV is in motion.
