RV Solar Privacy Screens & Sun Shades

RV Solar Privacy Screens & Sun Shades

RV Product Overview

One of the best parts of traveling to RV parks or campsites is the camaraderie of being together with friends and meeting new people who are camped there. However due to the close quarters in most parks privacy is also an important component. When you go inside your coach and close the door you enter your own private world.

Solar Privacy Screens by MCD are a great accessory that will keep that world private from the outside yet you are still able to see clearly out from the inside. They work both day and night. They are custom manufactured for each coach brand and can be designed to fit in the interior or on the exterior of the front windows and on the driver's and passenger's side windows coach and on the door window. They not only offer privacy but they reduces glare over 80% compared to any other solar screen fabric. Because of the exceptional properties in the fabric material MCD uses in these screens heat transfer is significantly reduced inside the coach which in turn lowers air conditioner demand and load. All of these unique properties of the MCD screens make them "a must" for any coach owner.

The Problem

The problem is twofold. One is to maintain privacy inside the coach without being "cooped up" and closed up from the outside world by opaque curtains or shades. Two is to keep inside of the coach from getting too hot while at a campsite or RV park and to protect the furnishings and interiors from the sun's damaging UV rays.

The Solution

The solutions to the above problems can be found in the Solar Privacy Screens by MCD. These are the best after market screens in the industry. They are custom designed and custom fit to each of the following individual brands of coach as indicated by clicking on the following link:

They can be designed to fit either on the outside or on the inside of the front window and front driver and passenger windows as well as on the door window and can be installed by the owner with a little patience. They have tech support to help with the installation if necessary.

Installation and Operation

The Interior front window screen is attached, held in place and easily removed by installing a plastic channel at the very top of the window. This channel is glued in place above the top window tinting and is virtually out of sight. Once the channel is permanently installed, the top of the screen is then inserted into the channel and fed across the length of the window. Once in place it hangs down from the top of the window to the dash at the bottom of the window providing complete privacy from the front of the coach during the day and only vague shadows visible at night. The simple removal of the screen is accomplished by reversing the process and sliding the screen back out of the channel. The installation of the driver's and passenger's side screens are the same as one would install home roll up shades, held in place by two side brackets installed onto the wall above each window. Each screen then rolls up and down and stays in any one place as needed, like home shades. The door screen is installed onto the screen door and held in place with velcro strips easily removed and stored for travel. The complete interior package also includes windshield wiper covers to protect the wipers from UV sun exposure when sitting for long periods of time in direct sunlight that are held in place with velcro. The entire package comes in a convenient storage bag that holds everything neatly when traveling and ready for the next use.

The Exterior screens are attached, obviously, to the outside of the coach and are held in place with special stud fasteners that must be screwed into the surface just outside the windshield moulding. Attached to each stud is a specially designed piece called 'No Sag' Technology Infinitely Adjustable Attachment to which the screen is attached and pulled tight to remove all wrinkles. A complete set contains Solar / Privacy Screens to cover the basic cab and driver area - windshield, driver window, door and/or passenger window includes wiper covers and a hard side storage case for complete protection.
