Weber 'Q' Camping Gas Grill Overview

This is the best camping and tailgating BBQ Grill that I have found. It is easy to use, easy to clean and easy to store in the motorhome or 5th wheel bay compartments, in the trailer or tent trailer and is just great for any type of RVing.

The Problem

Many of the BBQ's on the market are very bulky and are difficult to store for RVer's to carry with them as permanent gear in their RV, be it a motorhome, trailer, 5th wheel or tent trailer. Since space is at a premium, no matter what type of RV you have, careful consideration must be given to every piece of equipment that is carried permanently carried in an RV.

If an items are characteristically cumbersome, bulky or take up a lot of space in the compartment bays or elsewhere, careful consideration must be rendered and every make and model should be carefully considered as well as the features of each model of the item being considered. This is especially true when considering which BBQ to carry with you as this is one item that is constantly being used.

The Solution

After researching the various options available in the category of BBQ's, I found the Weber 'Q' to have the most features and was the easiest to store in my motorhome. The 'Q' comes with a convenient rolling duffel bag (sold separately) with wheels attached that makes it easy to store as well as maneuver about when moving it from the RV to the spot where it will be set up. Additionally, it also comes with a nifty stand (sold separately) that stores flat and is a snap to set up, that the 'Q' sits on for barbecuing.

The 'Q' also features a 12,000 BTU burner as well as a large 280 square inch porcelain-enameled cast iron grilling surface that accommodates cooking for most RVers. It also features two handy fold-out side prep tables that store under the lid as well s push button ignition. The 'Q' runs on propane and I always carry a six-pack of individual 16.4 oz. propane canisters to use with my 'Q', which can be found at Wal-Mart, any camping supply or sporting goods store that are easy to use and convenient to store as well.

Installation and Operation

The Weber 'Q' comes complete and set up is easy. Although purchased separately, the rolling duffel and stand are a must. The convenient 16.4 oz. propane canister is attached via a threaded connection. As a special note, I have found that it is a good idea to support these canisters to the BBQ frame or handle with a small bungee cord, so that the weight of the canister is supported and does not put any pressure on the 'Q's threaded propane connection. The 'Q' features a push button ignition, so firing it up is easy and efficient. The 'Q' fits perfectly on the specially designed stand and is stored in a specially designed rolling duffel for convenient stowage in the RV.
