Centramatic Tire Balancers

Centramatic's Background
Established in 1985, Centramatic holds over 10 design and utility patents on their unique balancing system design. Centramatic Balancers are designed to extend and maximize your tire life by using an "On Board" Balancing System for tires and wheels that creates a smoother ride than non-balanced wheels. Mounted behind the wheel, Centramatic Tire Balancers offer a permanent wheel balancing solution. Centramatic Continuous Wheel Balancers operate automatically and can adapt and/or adjust instantly for changing road and driving conditions.

Tire Balancer Principal
Wheel and tire assemblies can work themselves into on out-of-balance situation over time. This can occur due to uneven tire wear, or from mud, snow, or ice attaching to the wheels and tires. By taking advantage of the centrifugal force generated in a spinning wheel, the free-moving weights (made of durametal and synthetic fluid) that are sealed within the balancer automatically distribute themselves to the exact location needed to weight the assembly into perfect balance or "equilibrium."
When a sprung wheel assembly is out of balance, deflection is caused via the springs or tire sidewalls. The free moving weights within the balancer sense this deflection and are attracted to the opposite side from the heavy spot to balance the entire wheel assembly.
How Tire Balancers Work
Centramatic Wheel Balancers consist of a 20-gauge steel galvanized mounting plate with an aluminum balancing tube attached to the outer edge of the plate. Tiny shot-sized balancing weights and a synthetic moly oil fluid are inserted into the balancing tube.

The weighting or balancing media consists of two parts. The primary ingredient is a hardened lead alloy called "Durametal" that is similar to lead shot but ten times harder. The Durametal is primary media, as a solid cannot change shape or form under centrifugal force. It remains exactly where it is needed under high speed. The secondary ingredient is a dampening fluid which is a proprietary synthetic oil designed to operate in the most extreme friction, vibration, and temperature environments.
The centrifugal rings in the tire-balancers are about 1/3 full of the dampening fluid. The fluid's function is to lubricate, dampen vibration and assist in the balancing process. Used alone, without the Durametal component, the fluid would evenly distribute itself under high speed centrifugal force and would therefor be forced back around the ring to undesirable locations. The addition of the solid matter prevents this by directing the solids to the lighter side and opposite of the out-of-balance side of the spinning assembly.
Centramatic makes wheel balancers for a wide variety of applications such as: military vehicles, pick up trucks, SUV's, heavy duty trucks, tractor-trailers, and large Class-A Motorhomes and Coaches. Commercial fleets have reported increases in tire tread life up to 50 percent and the elimination of "tire hopping" from out-of-balance wheels.
Centramatic Tire Balancers come a 5 year, limited, nationwide warranty and a 30 day, no questions asked, money back guarantee.
