A Class-C Motorhome, also known as a "mini-motorhome", is more maneuverable than its class-a counterpart, and significantly less expensive to purchase, drive, and maintain. Given the rising cost of gas - especially diesel fuel, class-c motor homes are rapidly increasing in market share, as manufacturers respond to consumer demand, increasing fuel-efficiency mileage ratings on their vehicles.
The motorhome shell is usually constructed on a customized automotive-type truck or van chassis. The main sleeping area is over the driver and passenger compartment. A Class C Motorhome is capable of towing a boat, car or motorcycle trailer when using a supplemental brake control system. Class Cs can have most of the creature comforts of a large Class A, but in a scaled-down package.
