Tire Care
For optimum tire wear and better gas mileage proper tire inflation is critical.
Although each tire has a stamped impression on it from the manufacturer indicating the maximum (cold) tire pressure to inflate the tire with, for optimum tire wear, a smoother ride and better gas mileage, the weight of the coach must be considered.
As one travels down the road the tires heat up and pressure builds adding to the static cold pressure already in the tires. This becomes even more critical when traveling through mountainous country at high speeds and at altitude where tire pressures build to even greater degrees.
It is critically important to check the tire pressure daily when the tires are cold. Care should be taken so that the tires are checked usually in the morning when the air temperature is cool and the tires are out of direct sunlight to get an accurate cold tire pressure reading.
