Rolex Monterey Historic Automobile Races
|
Beginning in 1974, the Monterey Historic Automobile Races presented by Rolex have been a great opportunity for the public to see vintage race cars in action, challenging one of the most difficult tracks in the country. The Historic races date back to the 1950 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance and its accompanying Pebble Beach Road Race which was held on 17 Mile Drive in Pebble Beach. The first year's race was won by the legendary Phil Hill, who was driving a Jaguar XK 120. Racing on 17 Mile Drive was banned in 1956.
