Poland Southern Poland Countryside
The Countryside of Southern PolandWith rolling hills of intense green foliage, dotted with bucolic wooden villages, stone church steeples, and the jagged peaks of the Tatra Mountains as a backdrop,Southern Poland's Podhale country of is a picturesque wonderland that harkens back to a simpler time. The first thing you are struck with is how unspoiled, and sparsely populated this region is. Perhaps it is due to the relative inaccessibility of the region, or perhaps it is partially due to Polish sensibilities which value simplicity over extravagance. There is little heavy industry in the region, and much of the land is dedicated to small-scale agriculture or is left as open space. No matter how small the village, there is always a beautiful stone or wooden church that is elaborately decorated, and beautifully maintained. The Polish people take great pride in their villages, homes, and churches, and the Poles are some of the cleanest people on the planet. Photos of the Southern Poland Countryside
